Social media at Advanced Aesthetics of Glenville

In honor of Social Media Day, Dr. Roy Oyangen and team would like to take today to discuss our approach to social media and online patient communications. At our convenient Glenville office, we embrace technology and the benefits that it can bring to our office. Our website, innovative dental treatments and social media presence (including our Facebook page), are all examples of ways that our office utilizes state-of-the-art technology.

We love engaging in conversation with our patients online. It’s great to connect with our patients, sharing news, ideas, and upcoming events at the office. We have found that our Facebook fan page and blog are great tools for making this connection.

Dr. Oyangen and team are interested in hearing about your thoughts on social media. How would you prefer we use our social networks this summer and going forward? What would you like to see us share on our blog? Let us know by commenting on our Facebook page or by giving us a call at 518-831-9677!

Enjoy your Fourth of July weekend everybody!

Featured patient reviews for Dr. Roy Oyangen

Once in a while, Glenville dentist Dr. Roy Oyangen and team get patient reviews that make us extremely proud to do the work we do: creating beautiful smiles for folks in Glenville, Schenectady, Saratoga Springs and Albany. Check out these two reviews we received from two longtime patients and please feel free to contribute your own thoughts about our office!

"He is very knowledgeable, his staff is great, very warm and friendly. He always takes classes but makes himself available if an emergency ... he is the best I've ever had and is worth it!" ~ Anonymous

"Dr. Oyangen is a truly great dentist and a lovely person. He treats his patients with the most respect and consideration. He has been so understanding with my financial struggles lately and has given me a true assurance that he cares." ~ Faith B.

At Advanced Aesthetics of Glenville, we provide dentistry for people who are serious about their dental care and who wish to form partnerships with us. We encourage timely action because the longer treatment is postponed, the more complex, expensive, uncomfortable, and unpredictable it becomes. We promise a pleasant experience, realistic expectations, and we will deliver outstanding results.

Dr. Oyangen and team, supporting National Smile Month

Did you know that the American Dental Association discovered awhile ago that a person's smile was important than their eyes, hair and body as the most important physical feature? It's no wonder why Americans spend as much as they do on general and cosmetic dentistry each year: people want to look (and feel) great.

That brings us to June, also known as National Smile Month. It's a great time for Dr. Roy Oyangen to remind all of our patients to practice good oral hygiene between your regular visits to our office.

Here are a few simple steps you can take to improve your oral health so that you may celebrate National Smile Month for many, many years to come

* Brush at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
* Floss everyday to clean between your teeth.
* Reduce your intake of sugary foods and drinks.
* Visit Advanced Aesthetics of Glenville regularly (usually every six months or as recommended by Dr. Oyangen).

If you have questions about any of these tips, we encourage you to give us a call at 518-399-4696. We hope you have a great rest of the weekend!

Ask Dr. Oyangen: How can I prevent gum disease?

We touched a little on gum disease last week, but how can one truly know if they have gum (or periodontal) disease? Did you know gum disease can exist in your mouth without you even knowing. In fact, you can have the beginning stages of gum disease without noticing any pain or discomfort. Since gum disease can be undetectable, Dr. Oyangen says it’s important to watch for warning signs in order to prevent the disease from worsening!

Signs to watch for:

• Gums that appear red or swollen
• Gums that feel tender
• Gums that bleed easily (during brushing or flossing)
• Gums that recede or pull away from the teeth
• Persistent bad breath
• Loose teeth
• Any change in the way teeth come together in the biting position

If you or someone in your family is showing these signs, schedule an appointment with Advanced Aesthetics of Glenville right away by calling 518-831-9677. Our doctors and staff can diagnose the problem and save your teeth and give you back a healthy mouth!

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend everyone!
